Leeds Combination League Division 1 24th February 2008 Morley Mercantile 2 – 4 Leeds City Rovers Leeds City Rovers secured their best win of the season away at league leaders Morley Mercantile. In an entertaining game Rovers deservedly grabbed the points however were made to work hard for their win on a terrible pitch after falling behind twice in the first half. There were two players missing from the team that beat Rothwell two weeks earlier with Dave Beaumont returning to University and Geoff Clarkson having family commitments. This gave opportunities to Tom Maxwell and Paul Marriott to secure regular position in the first team. Both teams were pumped up for the big match and the pressure was clearly reflected when centre back Andrew Mitchell threw up before kick off. Unsurprisingly the game started quite tentatively, with both teams getting to grips the boggy and badly scared pitch.

Leeds Combination League Division 1 10th February 2008 Leeds City Rovers 3 – 0 Rothwell Town Sunday
Rovers made two changes to the team that claimed three points at Armley the week previously. They welcomed back striker Dave Beaumont from University who replaced Paul Marriott and Johnny Richies started in Midfield alongside skipper Nick Wilson in a strong Rovers squad that also included five substitutes.
Rothwell were clearly fired up for the match after going on a good run since their humiliation in the cup against Rovers and were obviously seeking revenge for the defeat. Rovers however controlled much of the first half with a couple of half chances falling to Wills before the home side did open the scoring. Dave Beaumont received the ball just inside the Rothwell half and broke superbly evading a number of challenges before squaring the ball to Lev Watach who placed a composed finish delightfully into the goalkeepers’ bottom left corner. The game continued at a good tempo however chances were at a premium. Rothwell came close to drawing level towards the end of the first half however John Bell saved excellently, diving full stretch to his right and holding a firm shot from the edge of the area.

Leeds Combination League Division 1 03 February 2008 South Leeds United 2 - 6 Leeds City Rovers Leeds City Rovers battled there way to a well deserved victory in an enthralling game to complete their forth victory in a row. Paul Wills yet again grabbed the headlines with four more superb strikes to add to his remarkable tally of goals this season and Nick Wilson and Lev Watach also chipped in with a goal each from midfield. Despite conceding two goals, the North Leeds side always looked good value for their win against their South City rivals and in truth the score could have been even more convincing. There were no changes from the starting eleven that beat Armley the week earlier however manager Stewart Wilson was without the duo Alastair Jackson and Tom Maxwell. He did however welcome new signing Johnny Richies back into the squad after the former star signed contracts on deadline day to bolster the clubs quest for silverware this season. He joined a subs bench which included Chris Pugh and the manager himself, who was looking to make more of an impact than his last appearance against the same opposition!
